As a new type of lightweight structural material in the 21st century, magnesium has extremely broad potential applications. In recent years, some magnesium plate processing enterprises, research institutes, colleges and universities in my country have actively carried out research and application of high-performance deformed magnesium alloy plate processing technology and equipment, and have achieved remarkable results and made gratifying new developments:

1. New progress in the development and production of rolling technology and equipment for wide-width magnesium alloy plates (hot-rolled billet + warm-rolled)

1) Yingkou Yinhe Magnesium Industry's magnesium alloy sheet rolling production line has been officially produced and supplied

Manufactured by Northern Heavy Industry Group, the production line is mainly composed of a 1750mm four-high reversible hot rolling mill, a 450m finishing line, and a 1625mm six-high reversible cold rolling mill.

① Build a low-frequency semi-continuous casting high-purity magnesium alloy slab and bar production line: adopt the low-frequency electromagnetic continuous casting technology of Northeastern University to significantly refine the as-cast structure of the alloy and significantly improve the macro-segregation of alloy elements. Performance is guaranteed.

② Main product specifications: slab (maximum) thickness 800mm×width 1250mm×length 2000mm, 350×530×850mm, 300×800×1600mm; bar stock: ф800mm, ф600, ф300, ф150, etc. 10-100mm thick x 1500-1600mm wide hot-rolled medium and heavy plates have been officially produced and supplied; 2.5mm thick x 1500mm wide, coil weight 500Kg thin plates have been successfully trial-rolled. The thickness of the cold-rolled plate is 0.6～1.5mm×1.2～1.5mm wide, and the coil weight: 500～1000kg. The mechanical properties of the coil exceed the national standard.

③ Realized the rolling of magnesium alloy plates: the basis of mass production of plates is continuous rolling or coil rolling. Yingkou Yinhe broke through the key technology of coil rolling on the four-high finishing mill and realized the coil finishing production, laying the foundation for mass production, stabilizing product quality, and reducing production costs.

④ Reduced production costs: To expand the application range of magnesium alloy sheets, production costs must be greatly reduced. In addition to focusing on the quality of slabs, Yingkou Yinhe also carried out research on shape, surface, and precision control technology from low-cost hot-rolled billet rolling and warm finish rolling, and carried out hot-rolling, low-temperature, high-speed, and large-processing rate rolling. Production test, hot-rolled billet, from 350mm thick slab, repeated rolling to 10-12mm thick, no annealing in the middle, only 5-8 minutes to complete, the yield rate is 70%. Warm finishing rolling: from 12mm thick to 4mm in one pass, 1500mm wide, the reduction is nearly 70%, the rolling speed: 65m/min, the yield rate is 85%. It broke through the key technology of low-cost production of wide and thick magnesium plates, optimized the process flow, increased the rolling speed, greatly increased the yield rate, and reduced the production cost, laying the technical foundation for its large-scale production. In particular, it has overcome the coil rolling technology, developed a complete set of technology for low-cost thin plate industrialization, and has made it possible to transform China's large amount of primary magnesium into high-tech magnesium alloy plates and plate processed products.

2) Western Titanium's advanced large-scale magnesium plate rolling equipment and its supporting equipment

Large-scale advanced special-purpose rolling mills for magnesium alloy sheet processing and associated auxiliary equipment and the establishment of large-scale magnesium sheet rolling production lines are important conditions for realizing the industrialization of high-quality magnesium alloy wide sheet and thin sheets. . Its equipment capabilities:

(1) 2800mm four-high reversible hot rolling mill: the main equipment of the hot rolling line with high rigidity, high power and high rolling force (5500t). Its supporting equipment:

①The advanced movable roller-hearth resistance heating furnace can heat the slab online and return to the furnace to make up the temperature;

②Hydraulic roll bending and roll segment cooling device can realize roll shape and crown adjustment, and control plate shape;

③Advanced AGC control system to reduce the difference between the same plate and different plate thickness and control the plate shape;

④On-line thermometer and X-ray thickness gauge to ensure the control of rolling temperature and size;

⑤The four-fold eleven-roll hot straightening machine eliminates the single-sided or double-sided wave bending of the hot-rolled sheet;

⑥Segment cutting, realizing online cutting of sheet material.
